In an homage to one of winemaker and winegrower Chris Berg's favorite artists, Paul Klee, Roots' second label, Klee, makes up the largest portion of the case production with 2,000 cases made annually. The artwork is their own adaptation of an obscure Klee painting Solution “ee”. of the Birthday Assignment, 1924. Klee Willamette Valley Pinot noir was produced using native fermentation — both primary and secondary. The wine was aged in French oak barrels (10 percent new) for 11 months.
