Domaine Gérard Metz Gewurztraminer Vieilles Vignes 2017 750ml
Since the 19th century, the Metz family has been cultivating vines in the town of Epfig. However, until the 1920s, the main activity was focused on agriculture.
It was in 1930 that Marcellin Metz moved to the neighboring town of Itterswiller and from 1936, he decided to direct his main activity towards viticulture.
Marcellin was able to pass on his know-how to his two sons Gérard and René. It was from 1966 that they decided to market their wines in bottles for the first time.
Meticulous and enterprising winegrowers, Gérard and René developed their sales quickly in France thanks to the quality of their wines.
Over the years, they expand their domain by acquiring excellent terroirs in Itterswiller and its surroundings.
With a beautiful golden yellow color, Gewurztraminer Vieilles Vignes is marked by a spicy nose with aromas of exotic fruits. The attack on the palate is rich with a balanced roundness with a presence of lychees and papayas on the finish.
