Mottola, where Petracavallo are located, sits geographically between Manduria and Gioia del Colle—both of which also happen to be the name of the two main biotypes of Primitivo and the most famous Primitivo wine’s in Italy. This wine resides somewhere between the strength and complexity of Manduria and the more slender elegance of Gioia del Colle. Macerated on the skins for 12 days creates a wine of intense ruby red and purple colors with aromatics of creamy ripe red fruits with a good structure that drinks remarkably light on its feet.
Vinification: Macerated with 12 days of skin contact in stainless steel.
Aging: Aged 12 months in stainless steel. 12 months in bottle.
