Dirt lover is a bloomy rind sheep cheese with a light coating of vegetable ash. This Green Dirt Farm original recipe sheep milk cheese is similar to a Selles Sur Cher or Caña de Oveja. Applying ash to the rind of cheeses is an old-world cheese making technique helping to neutralize the pH of the rind, encouraging the desired rind formation. The dark line from the ash makes Dirt Lover a striking addition to a cheese plate. Dirt Lover is a Green Dirt Farm original recipe. It’s one of a very few soft ripened sheep’s milk cheeses made in the US.

To maintain quality, our cheese inventory is constantly refreshing. We cannot guarantee that a cheese is in stock at a quantity sufficient to fill on order.  Orders for out of stock or limited quantities will be notified, substitutions recommended and purchases partially or wholly refunded if necessary.  

1-2 day shipping is required at checkout.  Cheese is shipped on Monday - Wednesday in insulated packaging with cold packs.  Cheese should be refrigerated immediately after receipt.  

All our orders are sliced by hand. Slicing cheese is an inexact art.  Weights are approximate and will vary.
