The estate of Max Ferdinand Richter has been in the possession of the Richter family for over 300 years. Currently, this enterprise, managed by winemaker Dirk Richter, stands out as one of the premier producers of exceptional Rieslings in the central Mosel region. With a total of 43 acres and an annual output of approximately 10,500 cases, Richter is renowned for crafting fine wines that enjoy global recognition. They offer a diverse selection of wines made from estate-grown grapes, each reflecting the unique character of its respective vineyard. The terroir of their steep vineyard sites is characterized by fresh weathering grey slate.

The "Zeppelin-Riesling" is meticulously crafted from fruit sourced from both the estate and contracted growers in Mülheim. The bottle features a 1920s art deco label designed by Bauhaus artist Hans Schlösser, which pays homage to the heritage of the Mülheimer Sonnenlay, a wine once enjoyed aboard the luxurious airships "Graf Zeppelin" and "Hindenburg."
